Meso and Lifting Threads: Skin Rejuvenation, Face and Neck lifting treatment that gives you an immediate improvement in appearance without the need for surgery.
What is Meso and LiftingThreads treatment?
Thread Lift is a minimally invasive procedure which involves lifting different parts of the face which started to sag using special threads without having to make surgical incisions as with a classic surgical face lift.
Once the threads are inserted in precise locations using a needle/ cannula, they are pulled up to lift or tighten the targeted area and anchored and fixated to tissues.
How does Meso and Lifting Threads work?
The surrounding tissues act to hold the threads in place maintaining the lifting effect. And new tissues can be formed in the micro wounds made by the thread lifting procedure due to the natural healing force of the skin, so that the wounded skin tissues can revive as resilient new tissues, accompanied natural collagen induction. there will be new natural collagen formation surrounding the implanted threads which serve as a scaffold for the collagenous proliferation. These threads stimulate collagen production, improve the quality of skin and help with additional lift to the patient’s face and neck.

How long does Meso and Lifting Threads procedure take?
The procedure takes about one hour and its carried out under local anaesthesia hence you will be fully awake throughout the whole process but you feel only minimal discomfort due to local aesthetic. The procedure only leaves minimal visible traces of intervention on the skin, thus assuring minimal recovery time compared to full surgical facelift.
When can I see the results? and How long does the effect last?
The treatment results can be seen immediately after the threads have been inserted due to the mechanical lifting and swelling effect but the effect can continue to improve over the following three to six months. The threads normally dissolve within six to twelve months depending on patients and after the thread is dissolved into the skin the so called vector of pull is formed, which is your own collagen tissues that maintain the lift long after the thread has been dissolved. The lift effect can last up to one and a half to two years when full treatment is carried out and optimum correction of the face is achieved.
What happens to those dissolved threads?
Meso and Lifting Threads uses an absorbable thread of polydioxanone (PDO). PDO is a well known material that has been used to make surgical sutures, more commonly known as stitches that surgeons use for surgery and to close internal wounds. PDO material is used for more than 30 years in plastic surgery, gastroenterology, urology, gynaecology, ophthalmology for cutaneous and subcutaneous stitches.
These threads have very high tensile strength, great flexibility, excellent pliability, smooth tissue passage. This material meets all the requirements established by the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) for surgical sutures.
PDO ultimately breaks down into water and carbon dioxide which are naturally absorbed into skin. The end products of PDO breakdown are mainly excreted in the urine, the remainder being eliminated by digestive or exhaled as carbon dioxide.
Who is suitable for this treatment?
The procedure works ideally for patients who have good skin elasticity and does not have too much excess skin. The ideal candidate needs to have good quality skin as this procedure is a milder lift. The most suitable candidates are men and women from their late twenties to late sixties (of course there are always exceptions to the rules) who wish to look better lifted and firmer and need moderate facial rejuvenation without face lift surgery.
If the patient does not want to have a face and neck lift surgery, thread lift can also be a very effective alternative as long as there are no excessive amount of redundant skin.
It is especially suitable for patients whom had botox and dermal fillers but are still having problems lifting certain parts of their face e.g. Jowls/ Marionettes lines/ Nose to mouth lines/ Neck and décolletage etc.
This treatment is suitable for patients that do not wish to have Botox or Dermal Fillers due to personal preferences.

What does Meso and Lifting Threads procedure involves?
The one hour procedure is carry out in the doctor’s clinic. It is a local anaesthetic procedure hence patient is fully awake. Prior to treatment, numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area for additional comfort. After a small local anaesthetic at the entry point, the doctor inserts needles/ cannula with threads into the skin, no cut is required, the threads are left in the skin to stimulate collagen production and produce lifting effect, whereas the needles and cannula are removed.
While inserting and removing the needles, you may feel a temporary prickling sensation. Once the saggy skin is repositioned and lifted, the non-inserted ends of the threads are cut off. The number of threads used will vary according to the needs of each patients. Antibiotics will be prescribed and patients must complete the course according to your doctor’s instructions. Please inform the doctor if you are allergy to any medications.
